During … WebJul 19, 2016 · Dunno about FWD, but snow mode does not disengage VSA with AWD, and sometimes it is hard to maintain momentum in deep heavy/slushy snow. I suggest turning off VSA with the button on the driver's kick panel if you want to play in the sand. Snow mode might be more helpful in mud. But there are many flavors of mud. sofeejay said:

What happens is when people brake they lock up and slide into the intersection polishing it up. When you try to leave on that surface you get way more wheelspin so the soft launch prevents that.
